Here's your Verichip Update!
Before we get to the update, below
are a few common questions people are
asking about the Verichip.
As you'll see, most of the questions listed
are "religious" questions, or in other words,
questions that relate to the Verichip from a
biblical prespective.
If you're familiar with the Bible, then you
may enjoy the topic of Verichip simply because
it relates to the "end times" or bible predictions
about the coming of the next age.
I admit, I enjoy reading about these topics too.
I especially get excited when actual prophecies
seem to get fulfulled before our very eyes.
This is all neat and exciting for those that
believe in the bible, but what about those
that aren't into the reading the bible that much?
What if you're not really a "bible" person,
or you've never actually read the bible with
any belief or interest in what it has to say
about life, let alone the "end times" or the
Verichip?
You may even consider yourself a Christian or
a religious person but maybe you never opened
the bible and really read it carefully.
Well, regardless if you've read it strictly
for prophecy or just here and there, I'd
especially like to invite you to take a closer
look.
A friend of mine who never read the bible
seriously used to do something I call "bible
roulette".
He would take a few seconds every night
before he went to bed and he'd pick up his bible.
Then, without looking, he'd randomly stick his
finger into any page, open it up at that page,
and then read a few paragraphs starting at the
spot he "accidentaly" chose.
Although this is better than not reading it all,
bible roulette is like receiving a letter from a
good friend but only reading the middle of the
note.
Although by doing this you might understand
a little bit of what is being said, you would also
risk missing the entire point, topic, or subject
of the letter and get a total misguided view of
the entire message!!
When reading the bible, the best thing is to take
one single book at a time, and only read and
concentrate on that book until it's completely finished.
Or, follow a read through guide, like one of
those "read the bible in a year" charts.
You can get them online and some bibles even have
them in the back on the last few pages.
When I started reading the whole bible, my reading
time became alive and exciting!
I would like to challenge you to do the same.
If you're a prophecy junkie like me, you may get
side tracked sometimes by focusing too much on
the your most favorite sections of the Bible such
as the book of Revaltion.
I have to admit that with all the development
of technology, especially with all the Verichip
news, I find myself getting really focused
on "prophecy".
This is good, but I have to continually remind
myself not to just read "part of the letter", but
to read the whole thing to be sure to get the
central message! Sound good? Cool...
Okay, with that said, here are those questions:
Q: When do you think the Verichip will be in use
all around the world, and will people will have
a choice to say yes or no to receiving it?
A: The Verichip or something very similiar to
it, may become common place in the USA
within the next few years to a decade.
However, this is pure speculation and based only
on how fast recent technolgies have sped onto the
scene.
People will have a choice in receiving it. At
first, the Verichip may be offered just like a
credit card. In time, it may become a way of life.
Although it's my belief that the Verichip may be
used by the Anti-Christ (Revelation 13)as the a
vehicle for the mark of the beast, the bible clearly
states that those who's name are written in the Lambs
book of life will not be deceived into taking the
mark.
I don't think the Verichip will "all of sudden"
become the mark and you'll be stuck with it or
fooled if you previously took it. The mark of
the beast will be forced on people, meaning
they will know they're getting it.
If you're worried about receiving the mark of the
beast, whether it's the Verichip or not, you're
sure (only) protection from being decieved is
getting your name written in the Lambs book of life,
i.e, believe in Jesus Christ. Once you do that, simply
sit back and trust.
Q. What your thoughts were on the timing of the
rapture of the church and is the Verichip a sign
that it's coming soon?
A. As far as the timing of the rapture, Jesus said
no one knows the time or the hour, only the Father.
However, we can see that many things that the Bible
says must take place before the rapture, has taken
place.
1 Thessalonians 4:15-18 among other verses discuss
the rapture and that it will take place, but no
one knows the exact time.
You can also read some free books here about this:

Q. The fact that the Verichip may replace credit
cards is quite scary. How soon will that happen,
do you know?
A. I think it will take a while before it could
totally replace the credit card.
There is something called "Veripay" (see below)
which is the payment type gateway for the Verichip
technology. The technology is definitely in place.
It's my opinion that people will need to get over
the privacy issues before they become comfortable
with it. This could happen quite quickly with the
proper identity protection in place.
Q. I'm a Christian, Is it okay to purchase the
Verichip (Applied Digital) stock?
I've had dozens of questions such as this and I'm
not sure about the answer. I'm really not a stock
expert nor have I ever invested in the stock market.
However, from a "right/wrong" perspective unto the
Lord, I think I personally would not do it.
I don't know what the ulterior motives are of
Applied Digital from a biblical standpoint, and
since the possibilities of the Verichip are
uncertain, it's something I would stay away from.
I feel as of now they are innocent as far as the
future use of the Verichip (or similar device) by
the Anti-christ as a vehicle for the mark of the
beast, or to control buying and selling, but I
don't know if I would want to support the company
simply due to the possible link in the future.
Personally, biblical opinion aside, I don't think
I'm for the chip due to identity and privacy
reasons.
Again these are only my personal opinions. My
advice would be to pray for the Lord to give
you some direction.

-Dr. Csaba Magassi, a plastic surgeon in Northern
Virginia, is among a nationwide network of doctors
who are ready and waiting to implant the VeriChip
into willing patients. His office receives calls
daily from people inquiring about the chip. Dr.
Magassi said, "If a patient comes in requesting the
VeriChip, I usually tell them it takes between two
and five minutes to place the device in place. A
needle which contains the VeriChip is inserted.
The needle pushes the device through, and it is
implanted permanently. Put a bandaid on and you
are done."
-FDA sent a letter to the VeriChip makers stating
the microchip is not completely safe. In fact,
the letter lists a whole host of health risks
associated with the device, including "adverse
tissue reaction," "electrical hazards" and "MRI
incompatibility."
Applied Digital and the Food and Drug
Administration refused requests for an interview to
discuss these risks.
-Hewlett-Packard is devoting $150 million over the
next five years to develop its RFID presence
-Consumer privacy advocate Katherine Albrecht
said, "There are millions of people that have read
the press reports about all the positives of this
technology, but really have no idea about its dangers."
Albrecht strongly opposes the VeriChip for the physical
risks it poses, as well as the privacy risks.
She has been called "the Erin Brokovich of RFID chips."
On her Web site, www.spychips.com, Albrecht reveals
the potential dangers of the VeriChip and other
radio frequency identification methods. Allbrecht
said, "I think there is a very real concern that,
down the road, such a chip would become mandatory.
And not necessarily initially, but it would be
voluntary, in the same way let’s say as credit
cards or a drivers license is voluntary. No one
forces you to have a driver’s license or to have
a cell phone, but yet the vast majority of people
do, because it is very difficult to function in
a normal society without it."
-Applied Digital also launched a brand new
application for the chip last year called
the "VeriPay." This implant would hold all of
a person's financial information. Rather than swipe
a card or pay cash, consumers would scan their
wrists for purchases. And, if a swipe of the wrist
becomes too troublesome, there are already prototypes
made of doorway portals that can simply scan a
person and their purchases as they walk through the
door.
-The VeriChip just recently made its debut in a
Miami, Florida nightclub, where patrons had the
opportunity to "Get Chipped," much like the Baja
Beach club patrons in Spain
-Digital Angel Inc., the creator of the Verichip,
in November, reported a loss of $6.3 million for
the first nine months of the year, with revenue of $32
million.
-TheStreet.com (TSCM) stock experts are advising its
subscribers to "take a pass" on Applied Digital (ADSX),
which is also the primary owner of Digital Angel (DOC),
calling it a "potential disaster stock
-The editors of thestreet.com, William Gabrielski and
David Peltier said that Applied Digital generates most
of its revenue from the sale of voice, video and data
networks, not RFID tags, and the human-implantable
chip market is unquantifiable at this time and may
never have a meaningful impact on the top line. Of
Applied Digital's $92 million in revenue in 2003,
less than half can be attributed to its tagging
business, and that was from its role in tagging animals
to monitor things like food safety and the environment
for customers like the U.S. Army. we believe the best
way to play Applied Digital is to sell now at the
stock's high," concluded the editors.
-The company's CEO, Scott Silverman, has less than a 1%
stake in Applied Digital, and he is the largest
shareholder on the management team. He is well taken
care of by the board of directors, though, which
approved his $1.67 million salary in 2003, despite the
company's continued weak operating results.
-BREAKING NEWS: A company called Orbcomm announced
Wednesday that it has executed an agreement with
VeriChip, a subsidiary of Applied Digital, to be its
provider of satellite and telecommunication services
for applications to be developed for use with the
VeriChip. They will also work together to develop
and market new military, security, and healthcare
applications for use in the United States and around
the world.
-VeriChip Corporation, has awarded the exclusive rights
to distribute VeriChip in Thailand/Indonesia, Malaysia and
South Korea. In order to maintain exclusivity,
each distributor must purchase a minimum number of
VeriChips and scanners during a three-year period.
Collectively, these purchases would total a minimum of
65,825 VeriChips and 4,687 scanners. Each distributor
plans to sell and market VeriChip for security-related,
medical and emergency identification applications.
VeriChip Corporation awarded Inforlexus(www.Inforlexus.com)
the exclusive distribution
rights to Thailand/ Indonesia. The company
also awarded exclusive distributorship rights for
Malaysia to Universal Microchip
(www.universalmicrochip.com). The company has
awarded the exclusive distributor rights for South
Korea to SI&I Co., Ltd. (www.siikorea.com).
In 2002, the company had awarded the exclusive
distributorship to another entity in the country that
failed to meet its minimum purchase requirement
and was therefore terminated.
